Affordable Garmin Devices

Affordable Garmin Devices It always helps to have the right fitness data when you decide to take on a new challenge. The problem these days is that there are so many to choose from and many of them are costly. This is why we decided to create a list of affordable Garmin Devices. We chose Garmin because they not only have been around a long time but they have been tried and tested by not only the NERD team but also by many pro athletes. We've seen it too many times where people will by an APPLE watch or even a Fitbit and decide to take on new adventures but their device doesn't have the sports setting or the battery level won't make it through a full Ironman or ultra run.

Think Ahead When Buying a Fitness Wearable New isn't always mean it's the best for you and that you should dish out hundreds of dollars. Many of the new wearables aren't much different than their predecessors and can cost as much as a new laptop. When you buy think about battery life, sport and the conditions you think you may be training in. Think more not less

Think More Not Less Always shoot for your dreams when buying a fitness watch don't settle for an over glorified pedometer. By the best battery as well as one that uploads content via Bluetooth and has an option for a wearable heart rate monitor. Even if you don't see yourself doing a full Ironman when you go shopping think as if you are. This way you don't undersell yourself on usability.

Why Buy a Fitness Wearable Heartrate Monitor Built-in wrist heartrate monitors are not consistent enough and don't give an honest read. No matter what the marketers say these built-in devices are not accurate.  They often drop and recalculate your HRM. If you plan on using a coach they will most often ask you to get a wearable HRM. Many of the Garmins have this option to properly measure VO2 Max and more.

Why Is It Important To Have a Long Life Battery on a Fitness watch The answer to this is really a no-brainer. GPS sucks the living juice out of a battery and you don't want to get caught halfway through training to find your watch died. That Sucks big time...trust us.

Multi-Sport and Fitness Watches go Together When you train for any particular sport 9 times out of 10 you will be doing more than just that one sport. Be prepared, Don't sell out to just a running watch or a Fitbit that only tracks steps and calories burnt. Don't rely on added smartwatch apps like for Apple or Android. Adding on individual apps come from third-party developers and it's easy for them to deliver false data. Many Training platforms use platforms like Training Peaks. Many of those third-party apps are not compatible with Training Peaks yet so keep that in mind. No, Strava is not considered a training app...it's a social app. Not that we don't love Strava but it is not a complete coaching platform. The watches below will have the best price point this Holiday season and are the top watches to keep in mind under 400 and 300 dollars. We did add one that you could be seeing for less than $200 this season. Our Nerds have tested all four of these models and can stand behind these recommendations. Many of them have been tested through full and half iron distances. Let's have a look at Garmin Wearables that will be affordable and will do everything you need it to for a long time coming.
