How to Heel Lock Your Shoes

Tired of your heel slipping and sliding in your shoe when you run? Blisters got you down?  Well, lace up and get ready to learn the heel lock (or lace lock)! It's a simple trick that makes your shoes fit snug around your ankle, so your heel stays put. It's super easy, and it'll make your runs way more comfortable. Need more help with lacing techniques? Simply visit any Frontrunners Footwear location and they would be happy to help. For now, try it on your own. Let's get started!

P.S. Check out my video to see how to do it!

Why Heel Lock Lacing makes a Difference

First off, say goodbye to that annoying heel slippage! The heel lock hugs your ankle tight, so your heel stays put no matter what.  You'll also feel way more stable and in control, especially when you're tackling trails or making sharp turns. And the best part? No more blisters! When your heel doesn't rub, you can say goodbye to those painful blisters and enjoy comfy runs. Plus, when your shoes fit perfectly, you can focus all your energy on running your best without worrying about your feet!

How to Do the Heel Lock (It's Easy!)

  1. Lace normally: Start by lacing your shoes like you usually do, all the way up to the second-to-last holes.

  2. Make the loops: On both sides, take the lace and put it through the very top hole from the outside, making a little loop on each side.

  3. Cross them over: Cross the laces over each other and then put each one through the loop on the other side.

  4. Pull and tighten: Pull the laces down to tighten the loops around your ankle. Make it snug, but not too tight.

  5. Tie your shoes: Tie your shoes like you normally would. You're done!

Extra Tips

Remember, it's all about finding the right tightness - you want those loops to hug your heel snugly, but not squeeze it too tight! If you feel any pinching or pressure, just loosen the laces a little or try shifting the loops around. And hey, don't be afraid to experiment! Everyone's feet are unique, so try a few different lacing patterns with the heel lock to see what feels best for you. If you're still unsure, check out my video – I'll walk you through it step-by-step!

Conclusion

The heel lock is like a superpower for runners! It makes your shoes fit so much better, you'll feel more comfortable and run stronger. Give it a try and see how awesome it is!
