Warrior Pose

There is more to Yoga than meets the eye. The poses tell a story and have specific teachings behind them. When New to Yoga it is important to understand thoroughly what each pose is and the teachings behind them. Knowing the full essence of each movement will not only bring you physical strength but also an internal strength. The Warrior Pose is a story of how sorrow from grief can be transformed into infinite compassion. If one can obtain the ability to move through isolated sorrow and transform it into deep compassion that the essence of the love that has passed we be resurrected and live again. The Full story of Shiva's transformation was beautifully written Sharon Gannon on Jivamukti Yoga. When you practice try to think of the meaning of each pose as they can enlighten your being and bring you comfort.

SHIVA IS THE HIGHER SELF WHO SLAYS THE PRIDEFUL EGO, (DAKSHA), FOR THE SAKE OF THE HEART, (SATI). THROUGH MEANS OF INFINITE COMPASSION, THE HIGHER SELF FORGIVES THE EGO BUT NEVER THE LESS WITHDRAWS TO A SECLUDED PLACE WITH ONLY THE ESSENTIAL NATURE OF THE HEART LEFT INTACT. THIS ESSENTIAL NATURE OF THE HEART IS THE POWER OF LOVE WHICH WILL BE BROUGHT TO LIFE AGAIN, IN ANOTHER FORM.- SHARON GANNON
