My favorite gear…. That’s a hard one to pick. I really like my runners, my bike and my race kit. Although many times I wanted to upgrade or change I am really connected to them. I use ZoomX Vaporflys for running. I knoooow they have the carbon plate and all, and I can tell you it works. At least for me.
I ride a 2015 Cervelo P5, going into season 3 with it. Still no name, recommendations are welcome. It runs smoothly and has gotten me many strong placing on the bike. Lastly, my kit makes me feel like a hero. There is nothing special to it if anything it’s a KONA 2016 Zoot kit and I have never been to KONA. It’s a major goal of mine and it gives me motivation. It’s like when I wear that I can do anything I want.
Lauren Babineau and Cody Sahlstrom: My Triathlon Gear
I mean we love our bikes first and foremost.
Lauren races on a Trek Speed Concept but secretly prefers her beautiful Trek Madone for her daily training.
Cody spends all of his time on his QuintanaRoo simply just because he loves it.
And to randomly list some of our favourite and most important tools are: our espresso machine, Vitamix blender, GoPro, Zwift, Fatso, and smoothie bowls.

Oh! I totally suck at techy toys😑 So I have Nick, Vince and Steve to deal with that part😅 My favorite gears are anything Pink and Hello Kitty items💖 I just got another Hello Kitty thing for Hawaii.
Oh! Pink Kask helmet from Fort Street Cycle w/custom Hello Kitty (they branded as Goodbye Kitty for me) on the helmet.

We all love gear, my nerd side gets really excited about this. My favorite gear in swimming lately is my FORM GOGGLES, I cannot stress enough how much I love this, I been using this in paired with an HR monitor, I found this being a tremendous tool to learn to pace the efforts in long intervals at the pool as well as OWS.
My favorite bike gear is my PowerTap (Now SRAM) P2 pedals, they are simply reliable, they never fail. Training with a power meter has been crucial for improvements, If there is a piece of equipment I recommend is really a good power meter.
As for Running, A good Heart Rate monitor and a pair of shoes that help you run without getting hurt. I currently use Wahoo Chest Strap and Nike Zoom Fly 3 for training and Vapor Fly Next for racing.
But, most importantly… and I want to be super clear at this, as much as I love gear, Gear is not required to start, gear will not make you faster, gear will not make you fitter. They are certainly great tools to help you learn how to train,
My advice is to learn first how to “feel” how to find that inner pacing. I’m aware that this takes years to develop but our bodies have far more biological sensors than any gadget we can buy.

Swim: No watch, I do love my huub Design pull bouy though
Bike: My Garmin so I can see power on my race bike. Which is probably the coolest women’s bike out there. Liv Enviliv Advanced pro O.
Run: sis caffeine shot. As I get no stomach problems but a boost of energy.

I love my BLUE SEVENTY Vector wetsuit. It was custom made and fits me perfectly.
My bike is a SEVEN Axiom SL. It also was custom designed and built here in Watertown, MA by Seven Cycles. I also have custom 20 inch wheels by HED and custom cranks by BIKESMITH in MN.
I used to run in K-SWISS shoes, but since they no longer make the model I used, I run in New Balance. I have to wear women’s sized shoes and they make a number of models that are WIDE, that fit my feet very well.
I prefer Honey Stinger gels for sure. They are easy on my stomach and I feel I gain the energy from them quite efficiently.
I have also used CARBOPRO powder mixed with a bit of lemon-lime Gatorade for my long runs and rides.

For swimming, one thing that I am picky about is my goggles. Since I started swimming at the age of 5, I have always been wearing Vanquishers. I own so many pairs and they all have different tints to them to accommodate for varying lightning in open water swimming.
My favourite biking gear has to include my Cannondale SystemSix. It looks fast, and the components and structure of the bike live up to its aesthetics. The handling on it is probably the best that I have ever had for a bike, and takes the corners so smoothly. It’s crazy how much a bike can include performance. My first time riding it was about a year ago, and on that ride I set an all-time 5min power in a TT.
Hoka’s for running has to be my favourite shoe, I swear by them. I used to get many achilles and lower body injuries. My sports doctor told me to switch to Hoka’s, and I have been healthier since. It takes about 3 weeks to get used to them because they are very cushioned, but after running in them you won’t want to switch.
For nutrition, I am a huge fan of drinking Rumble (a supershake) as a post recovery drink, or even something I take on the go for extra fuel in my day. The nutrition components go beyond anything I would normally ingest and fills the void of missing supplements in my day.

I’m a really big aero nerd; I love researching ways I can go faster. I love my aero race wheels from Irwin. I started running the Irwin AON 88 front with a tubeless Continental 5000 GP 25mm and an Irwin AON Disc also with a continental 5000 GP 25mm in the back.
The front-wheel handles the wind in an amazing way where it feels like a shallow wheel. I also train on the Irwin ARLO alloy training wheel, which I like simply because it’s basically boom proof and you can take it on anything and it will hold up.
